Here is my portrait of Josephine Baker for Light Grey Art Lab’s upcoming exhibition, GIRLS: Fact + Fiction. Josephine Baker was a French dancer, singer, and actress. Born in St. Louis Missouri, she became a citizen of France in 1937 and eventually became an international musical and political icon.  She is also known as the “Bronze Venus”, the “Black Pearl”, and the “Créole Goddess”.  You can view the rest of the artwork in the show on Light Grey Art Lab’s website and you can purchase this piece HERE!
